Raffaello Santi -called Raffael for short- embodies just like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo the "uomo universale" of the Renaissance. Through his works of art and his architecture he became a legend even during his lifetime.Transfigured through his early death, he gained the auro of "Master of Graces". This Documentary covers all stations of his comet-like career as a painter, from the first years as apparentice in his fathers studio in Urbino, through his time in Florence to the climax of his career in Rome. Raffaels art impressed almost all painters traveling Italy and Rome and his big influence on the Art of Mannerism, Baroque and of the Nazarens is distinctive.

He was also called Raffaello Sanzio, Raphael Sanzio, Raffaello Santi, Raffaello da Urbino or Rafael Sanzio da Urbino,
